Pokeys are enemies appearing in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS.
Appearance[]
Pokeys are large, prickly cactus-like creatures. They have a total of five yellow "body segments" that can be punched off by Mario, Luigi, and Wario. Yoshi can eat them. Each segment contains a number of small spikes. The top segment is the head, which contains the orange eyes and smiling mouth.
Attacks and Behavior[]
Pokeys slither on the ground, moving gradually. Mario can be hurt if one rams into him or vice-versa.

- In the E3 1996 Beta, Pokeys had lines for spikes, normal looking eyes and a big smile. This was most likely changed because this design did not really look threatening.
